Continuum

The Continuum programme (early 2018) started as a 12 week concept piece of work (multimillion-pounds). I was looking into data visualisation and four-dimensional data modelling ontology (i.e. a historical timeline of everything that occurs in your life financially for banks, sorting everything down to a ‘thing’) for a client who are looking at what is possible 2021 onwards for their internal banking app. I took inspiration for various data visualisation tools and dashboards and created the ‘Continuum’ app. The project has been successfully sold to various senior stakeholders and CEOs. After initial wireframes and concepts working with various users and stakeholders within the business, I took the app to what is known as ‘Continuum 4.0’ which is being built (mid 2019) on a multimillion-pound contract.

“a clarity and purity of design which I've never seen before” - Stakeholder

”changes the way we do things” - Director

“revolutionises our work” - CEO

The definition: “elements that are not perceptibly different from each other, but the extremes are quite distinct”. I wanted to create a unique logo and brand for the client based on this. I came up with a simple geometric brain (with the brain having distinctive parts that work differently from one another).

I was challenged to clearly portray a four-dimensional ontology.

I had to do extensive user research, wireframes / concepts and designs working closely with my users / stakeholders (design thinking workshops / planning) to create a sophisticated conceptual design by communicating the overarching idea of simplicity through typography, iconography and shapes.
